What does Coached Into Debt collect, and what does it do with it?

When you read this site, our host logs basic request data to run and protect it. There are no analytics cookies, tracking scripts or ads. If you use the "Tell us what happened" form, we collect only what you type. We publish it only with your yes, without your name, and never use it for ads.

Who runs this site?

Coached Into Debt is an independent, non-commercial project. It sells nothing and runs no ads. Questions about your information: privacy@coachedintodebt.org. Everything else: hello@coachedintodebt.org.

What do we collect when you just read the site?

Our host, Netlify, records standard request data (IP address, browser type, time) to run and protect the site. Netlify's privacy statement does not set a fixed period for these logs. Netlify may also turn those logs into page-view totals for us: pages viewed, referring sites and approximate location, with no cookies and nothing that names you. The site loads no analytics script and sets no tracking cookie. The checklist remembers your ticks, and the site remembers your light or dark choice, in your own browser only; that never reaches us.

What do we collect when you tell us what happened?

Only what you put in the form: the kind of programme, the city or venue type, what you signed and when, what you paid, what happened after, your story, your two yes/no choices, and an email address if you want us to contact you. Please leave out health details and anyone's full name.

How do we use it?

To read and moderate it, to spot patterns across accounts, and, only if you said yes, to publish an anonymised version. Before publishing we remove names, places, dates and anything else that could identify you or anyone else. Nothing publishes automatically.

Who else sees it?

Netlify stores form submissions. Akismet, a spam-filtering service Netlify uses, checks each submission for spam. Submission notices go to our email provider. No one else, except where the law requires it: a court can order any of these services to hand over data, so do not treat this form as a guarantee of anonymity.

How long do we keep it?

We delete submissions and contact details 12 months after we last act on them, and a withdrawn submission within 30 days of your request. If you agreed to publication, we keep your consent record for as long as your account is published. Page-view totals are not linked to anything you send us.

How do I see, change or delete what I sent?

Email privacy@coachedintodebt.org with roughly when you submitted and something only you would know from it. We will delete it, and take down any published version, within 30 days. You can withdraw consent to publication at any time.

Do you respond to Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control?

Yes, and there is nothing for them to switch off. The site runs no analytics script, advertising or cross-site tracking, sets no tracking cookie and sells no data.

Is this site for children?

No. It is written for adults making financial decisions, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

How is it protected?

The site is served over HTTPS, and submissions are kept in an access-controlled account. No system is perfectly secure, so share only what you are comfortable sharing.

How will we tell you about changes?

We update the date below and describe material changes at the top of this page for 30 days.
